03 / Comparison matrix
Same family, same seven nights, different trade-offs. Turkey wins on travel time and logistics. Egypt wins on warm sea in October and November. Every band below is indicative, taken from parent trip reports.
| Criterion | Turkey: Antalya, Side | Egypt: Hurghada, Sharm | Detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Travel time from Kyiv | Antalya, 2h 05m direct in season | Hurghada, 4h 00m direct | |
| Two hours each way decides whether arrival day is usable. Add two hours of airport buffer with small children. | |||
| Sea temperature | 24°C June, 29°C August, 24°C October | 27°C June, 30°C August, 27°C October | |
| Egypt stays swim-friendly into November. Antalya bay cools once the October winds arrive. | |||
| Kids club ages | Clubs 4 to 12; baby club 0 to 3 | Clubs 4 to 12; fewer start below 4 | |
| Ask for this season's real club hours. Under-fours are usually parent-supervised in both countries. | |||
| Price band, 7 nights all inclusive, family of four | €2,600 to €4,200 indicative | €2,300 to €3,900 indicative | |
| Indicative band from parent reports, not a live rate. Late August and school breaks sit at the top of each range. | |||
| Entry notes | Passport valid 150 days beyond stay | Visa on arrival or e-visa, per passport | |
| Rules change and differ by nationality and passport. Confirm current requirements with the official embassy or consulate of the country you visit. | |||

Rule 02 / Arrival
Flights from Kyiv land in Antalya, Dalamur or Hurghada in the middle of a child's afternoon. By the time you clear the transfer, nobody in the family is fit for salt water, sun cream and a 200 metre walk across hot sand. So the first day is spent at the resort pool, in the shallow end, within sight of the room.
This is the single most repeated rule in our parent reports, and the parents who ignored it are the ones who wrote back about a meltdown at dinner. Treat arrival day as a recovery day. The sea will still be there on day two, and the water will still be warm.
The same rule sits in both destination guides and in every sample itinerary on this site. Compare the two coasts in the Turkey and Egypt comparison matrix, then build the week from the sample family itinerary.
05 / Survey quotes
Quotes are pulled from our own parent survey. Each one is dated and tagged with the destination and the month of travel, so you can see when the week actually happened.
“We landed in Antalya at ten in the morning and the kids were in the water before lunch. Day one was pool only, exactly like the rule says. It took the pressure off everyone.”
“The jetty at Hurghada was the whole holiday. My son kept his lifejacket on for six straight days and never once asked for the pool.”
“The nap window decided everything, not the view. We booked a ground-floor room in Side so we could wheel the stroller straight out to the shade.”
“The kids club started at four years old and that number decided the resort. Pebble entry also meant no one slipped.”
Each quote is one family's report, not a guarantee for your dates. Send us your own note if your week went differently.
Send the resort, the month and your kids' ages, and you get a day-by-day draft you can edit at the kitchen table.
